UNCANNY!

Having a tough time with blogging, but I feel I don't want to offend anybody with writing about how I feel and that we've had a bit more freedom than some countries in the last few weeks & been able to get out within reasonable distance here in Victoria.  We've no new cases or any existing ones in our state & hope it stays that way after this Easter break.

This post is just a strange little incident that happened to me yesterday as I turned over the perpetual calendar I have in my sewing room.  I've just started working on one of my own Quilt Wizard patterns that I designed some years back using fabric from my stash.  Had the centre partly cut & began sewing late on Sunday.  Hope the photos say it all.

The centre cut and laid out beside the sewing machine ready to start sewing.  Actually some is already sewn.  The colours aren't showing all that well as the sun was shining off the window.
The central part of the quilt printed out for me to follow.  Notice the name of this block is "Crown of Thorns".
On Monday morning I went back into the sewing room to turn over the calendar & this is what appeared.
Notice the name of the block for April 5.
Crown of Thorns.
And then I realised it is Easter & what did Jesus have on his head, but a crown of thorns.  Not sure whether this is all just an uncanny coincidence or has some meaning for me.

Now, a quick question as to whether any of my followers would like me to do a little late catching up on some walking out we've done or a couple of places of interest that we were able to visit during the last few months without crowds, though there were a few people out and about, all keeping a safe distance & usually wearing masks?
OK, done and dusted for todays funny little post and I'll start putting some of the photos together for the other "maybe" posts.
Take care all, stay safe & hugs from down under.  See you Friday for the Hunt.
Susan.

  1. The quilt block is beautiful and very fitting for Easter. I'd love to see some photo's of your walks. It's the only holiday we are likely to get for the foreseeable future. Stay safe out there.

    1. Thanks Cherie. I've been thinking about a few posts, so will possibly do one late tomorrow afternoon, as I have a much needed massage in the morning. I need to pop you an email with a thought I've had.

  2. Another lovely quilt block Susan ... I’m sorry you’re still not feeling so good. I’d love to see pictures from your walks ... we are just able to start getting out a bit further afield and are looking forward to getting to perhaps do a few garden visits over the course of the next month ... that’s always a real lift for me 😃

  3. That is a coincidence especially as you hadn't realised the Easter connection and it's a lovely quilt.
Do keep blogging about your days out and I'm sure you won't offend anyone about your new freedom and easing out of lockdown. It's heartwarming news that you have no Covid cases where you live. Take care x

  5. That is uncanny, it's not even as though you could have seen the calendar and it be stored in your unconscious as it's a pattern you designed years ago. What's really spooky is that they both have the same name. I'm always happy to read your posts about your days out.

    1. Thanks Jo & as it is an old traditional pattern, it does pop up in all sorts of publications, but it just didn't twig with me & are actually exactly the same, just a different size & colouring. Walks & days out will be coming soon.

    1. Thanks Rosie. We've had some lovely walks & days out with not so many people about, though some folks have gone nutty in these school holidays, but we don't go many places in the school breaks anyway.
