The Final Part of our March Trip.

Trying to catch up has been hard with more computer issues and all sorts happening in life at the moment.  DH has a spur on his heel and finding walking very difficult, the weather has been what our weather presenter calls "hit and miss" with few fine days, lots of inclement days with little rain and cold............oh so cold. As well as all this, my crafting mojo has gone on holidays, little brother has more problems and I'm missing all my family.  OK, enough of me moaning, so let's get the last leg of this holiday done.

On our way to the next destination, which was Bathurst, I saw 2 more lone chimneys.

We then passed through Cowra where I took a photo for our "I've been everywhere" car club challenge.

Into Bathurst we went and found that Mount Panorama was not being used for any car meeting, and I finally got my first ever look at the well renown racing circuit.
A mob of kangaroos were feeding in the centre.

A view of Bathurst from the top of the track.
Next 2 more photos taken for our challenge.

This is one of categories of finding something relating to our own names.
Well, just couldn't help myself with my initials.................SSS😁

DH with the Mount Panorama sign beside him for Iconic places.

A few photos below of buildings in the centre of our beautiful town of Bathurst.

Now I'm sorry, but I forgot to remember what the above and below photo are, though I think below is the Carillion.

This tree looks like it would hug you.

A side trip out of town, I espied these lovely iron sculptures of deer.

Then, further along, a paddock with donkeys.

After leaving Bathurst we headed east to Shoalhaven Heads for a few days and decided to go to The Australian Motorlife Museum near Wollongong.  A few photos follow & you will get a surprise......I know I did.😊
Just a few as the lighting was very poor inside.

Small cars, bikes and ones made of timber.
DH calls this size, "my size", meaning they are made for littlies..... like me.  haha?

A lovely old truck.

Now this was the surprise...................right up my street.
Lots of lovely old sewing machines.

Now heading for home along the coastal highway and we took the opportunity for some more challenge photos of Town names.
Ulladulla and Moruya, both places we know well having lived on the South Coast of NSW for many years.
The one below has a picture of Sydney Harbour Bridge as the stone for the pillars came from here.

A bit of nonsense.
We see this pink plane as we head down the highway and finally stopped to take a photo.
I think it is just a type of sculpture.

We want to make time one day to explore this Wildlife Park.
Below is a sign just outside of the park.

The last day of travelling before home.  The opportunity arose for a couple more challenge signs also.
Isn't this great.........a huge whale tail.

We often wonder if this will still be standing when we venture this way, but, yes after being like this for about 20 years it is still standing and with hay.

Another lovely sign.
I am trying to get the more graphic town signs, as some are just so plain.
We have the whole alphabet to try and capture, though X doesn't seem to be available on this side of Australia.

Whilst taking the Rosedale photo, this lovely horse came over for a pat.
OK, that is a wrap up of the trip way back in March.
We've had another trip since then and some quite good little outings.  I'm still trying to make sure I get challenge photos and although they are for the car club, I'll show some on my blog, if no-one minds.

Thanks, if you are still following.
Take care all and hugs from Susan.

OUR MARCH HOLIDAY.

As we had appointments for young brother in March we decided to make it a holiday as well.  We'd seen a brochure on the Snowy Valley Sculpture Trail and decided to include it in our time away.  Also, I think I may have said in a recent post that my uncle was having his 100th birthday party too.  We spent the first 2 nights in Gundagai, a town on the Hume Highway in N.S.W. as it was close to the trail we wanted to explore.  Oh, there was so much to see, so this post may be a bit photo heavy and only a bit of what we explored.  There will be a few more posts.

This could be a rather fun event, so we may keep the date in mind.
It was a sign near the lovely old timber rail bridge you can just see in the background at Gundagai.

The photos above and below you may have to click on to enlarge.
They are a loan chimney above and below is a tumbledown stone cottage.

First stop was a small town called Adelong which we know well.  I forgot to mention that we actually lived in this area between 1980 and 1986 after we lost our business.
The town sign.

A sculpture of a bull.

The above caption tells what is below.

Some of the pieces I've not taken photos of the plaques, and I've also misplaced the brochure, so just enjoy the journey with us.

?
I think they are pears.

A mural on the side of one of the shops.

Look up between the trees and you may spot the gumnut caps.

Schism, so the plaque reads.

Next town we visited was actually where we lived.  In the photo below is an APPLE way off in a paddock.  There used to be one close to the road, but they suffered terrible bush fires a few years back and it was destroyed and someone popped one here.

And now here is a very large apple peeler.
There were many apple orchards and other fruit grown here.
Still is, though we didn't think quite as many.

One of many sculptures with caption below.

Don't you love the name of this store?

Can you see what is peeking out from this hole?

And yes, this is the lovely town of Batlow.
Below is one item we processed at the Cannery, which is no more.
I used to work there.

Do you notice something on this sign which is significant to me?
OK, enough from me today, but as I said earlier there will be more to come and again, they will be photo heavy.
Having a lot of trouble typing due to very painful chilblains at the moment due to the cold weather.
Hope you enjoy and I so want to get back into my blog and I realise I've lost so many followers after my last post.
Take care all and hugs,
Susan.

NOVEMBER HOLIDAY PART 2

Well, after another hectic month and another trip away for 2 family matters and all the difficulties I'm having with Windows 11, I've decided I miss blogging and being able to catch up with my blog pals I've made over the years. Too much change has left me bewildered.😕

After the last post about Hill End & Sofala, our next part of the adventure took us down the Lachlan Valley Sculpture Trail and onto The Utes in the Paddock.  I've picked out some of both my favourite photos, plus some of the better ones to show.  I didn't get the plaques about each sculpture, so just browse what I've shown.

Here we go....................

K posing with the giant Goanna

Amazing through the windscreen, so not the best.

Can't remember what this was.

This one was call "Bird in Hand" made from what looked like large chain links.

Another that I do know but can't remember at this moment.

Brumby's Run.
.
Not too sure what the 2 below were called.

Next, we adventured further to do the Utes in the Paddock towards Condobolin.  These are Holden Utes from different years found in a paddock.  They were removed to here, and a lovely visitor centre built recently with a cafe as well. I'm just showing a few of what is on display

An overall photo I tried to capture before it rained again.

EMUTE.

MUTE UTE

UTE OPIA

UTEZILA

UTE OF ARMS
There were more, but my photos weren't the best for these.

A couple more photos, just because.
Pelicans, ducks and other water birds on what I think is a billabong of the Lachlan River.

The landscaping in progress with a rotunda and gardens being established.

Oh..............and of course I loved the beautifully sculptured goanna.

OK, I'll leave it at that for now and this time hopefully post again on Thursday/Friday before we have a hectic weekend with car club.  It's pick newsletters up from printer, fold, label & then distribute as many as possible Saturday morning, then post the remainder.  Sunday is an outing with said club, so maybe I'll have photos for another post later this month.
Our very recent trip also took up lots of our time for my younger brother, but we did manage to do a few things for ourselves as well.  One of these was catching up friends in Bathurst/Orange area, then a BIG birthday party.................my Uncle turned 100!!!!!!!!!  We came home quite exhausted due to it being very hot over many days and also doing some work for brother at his unit.  Enough, I must get some things done instead of sitting here in the study.
Hope you all have a great week, take care and hugs from down under.
Susan.
