JUST A BIT OF FUN

A quick post which is all I've got for now.  Been quite busy over the last few days with various errands to do and now the weather has got quite hot.  Around 30 deg today after our cooler than average November and I'm feeling it.  I don't like "hot".

I'd like to thank everyone who has left comments on my last couple of posts and I'm sorry for not replying, but will try and do so in the future.

Below is a photo of the front of box of the WASGIJ, which I spoke about on my last post.

Picture on box

Finished product.

A toy that we found at the bottom of a box in the garage as we sorted and packed.  Our children had a lot of fun with this many years ago and luckily it didn't have any batteries in it.  Put some in and it still works.

My reading matter at the moment and I'm enjoying it so much.  Sorry about the quality of the photos, but my camera doesn't seem to like the light in this house.  (I think).

Not even got to do any sewing over the last few days, but will hopefully remedy that tomorrow and make a start on that scrap quilt.
Hope you are all having a good week.  Take care.
Susan.

  1. The wasjigs are funny, aren't they! Love your robot toy - I don't recognise it, but it looks very 1970's to me! It looks like you have some nice reading.

I hope you're finding that you are settling into the house well enough for the time being . Oh! - you'll be there for Christmas, I think - that will be a different one for you.

    1. Yes Hazel, they are funny and we have 2 others "somewhere", one with a Morris Minor and the other a Tour Bus, both being part of our lives. Not really settled, but looking forward to moving into our new house in January.

  2. Ahhh, so that's what a wasgij is, very clever, I shall look out for one of those for my dad, he enjoys jigsaws so this will mix things up a bit for him. I've just looked that book up on Amazon, right up my street. I shall have to put it on my wish list.

    1. The wasgij's are great and they have produced quite a few over the years, but that one caught our eye with the truck as we've seen them while in UK and also watch the show called Truckers. The book is definitely good and although I've had it for a while, had not had time to read it.

  3. I think the robot looks very 70's too. My brothers had those sorts of things.

    1. I believe we bought it in the 80's. The boys were too young in the 70's as they were born in 76 and 78, though our girls were born in 72, but I'm sure it was for the boys. It's fun when you find something that you'd forgotten all about, but that was it.

  4. I don't recognize the toys at all, that's how far away from those years I am:)

    1. The jigsaw is new, but as reply above, I'm sure we got the toy in the 80's. You see Joanna, hubby and I have grandchildren well into their teens, so we are probably talking about time before yours.

  5. I love wasgijs! I have a couple of those. I have a thing about jigsaws and as soon as the weather turns cold I like to break out the jigsaws and I become a woman obsessed, I lose whole days sat there hunched over it, looking for the missing piece. x
