PLODDING ALONG!

 A quick post of what is happening here at home.  Although things have eased here at the moment with restrictions, the uneasiness I've been feeling is still with me.  It's as though we are living in a world of trepidation & walking on egg shells all the time.  We have been keeping ourselves busy.

Both bowls - the experimental & second one plus the trivet made from the leftovers.
My little greenhouse frame on it's new cement slab, again from leftover cement from the new extension.
Work in progress on the new extension of the shed.  Now waiting for a delivery of timber & iron today.

Finally painting the potting bench with just the slats to finish today.  It is supposed to look rustic.
The baby quilt for my Doctor who is due early December.
Up Hill & Down Dale now quilted and bound.
A shocking photo, but I've now hemmed the one curtain & placed it on the rod.  I bought this ready made curtain fabric years ago & had so much trouble sewing that I put it aside after hemming the sides.
My old curtains were just not opening & closing easily anymore so I made the effort to get a rod & brackets for these, measured them for the length & got one done yesterday.  I'll try & get the other done today along with my bench painting, working on the instructions for a quilt, grocery shopping & other sundry housework & meals too.  One last little bit from yesterday which was a scorching 35°.

GARDEN.
The poor old veg beds will have to suffice for the time being.  I've few tomatoes in, along with 2 pattypan squash, some rather forlorn looking peas & a row of carrots just peeking through the soil.

    It had never occurred to me to paint my potting bench. Yours looks so pretty that mine will now be getting painted to match the new shed when it arrives. You hubby has made some beautiful things hasn't he, what a useful clever man.

      Thanks Cherie & yes to DH being very clever. My bench is made from pallets & some weren't so good and I've painted it the best we can & although it isn't quite the colour I wanted, at least it's bright. Now I intend to get a few other things painted & you may be surprised at all the brightness (giggle).

      Thank you & DH is definitely clever. A reveal will happen in the weeks to come. We are lucky now out of lockdown as DD, hubby & family are coming over next week to help with the finishing bits. That's twice this year we'll have seen them. YIPPEE!!!!

    You both keep yourself very busy and I'm always impressed with your endeavours. Goodness, your weather's certainly changed, it's all downhill for us from here.

      Thanks Jo. I just can't imagine not being busy & weather has been both too hot & windy, but today was much nicer at around 26deg & we do have some rain coming Monday & Tuesday after such a wet October, November has been much drier.

    You certainly do keep yourselves busy. Your hubby's bowls and trivet are lovely. I only ever buy made to measure curtains and couldn't imagine tackling so much sewing not that I could do a good job anyway so well done to you.

      Thanks Eileen. As I said to Jo, best to busy. I used to make all our curtains, but I've definitely slowed down now & these already had the tops done & just needed shortening, but it's that very stiff blockout stuff on the back which is hard to sew.

    It's so wonderful to see green everywhere! Here our lawns are still a beautiful green, but this coming week's temps are only in single digits (Celsius) so I imagine it will be starting to fade a bit. I love the woodwork your husband has done! Adn yay for a cute potting bench and lovely curtains. I've been being given hints that I should make new ones for our living room which is getting all new walls, ceiling and insulation...When will the renos every end...

      Thanks Sandra, but the curtains have not been as succesful as I've done before. You are certainly in reno mode & was wondering how the studio was coming along too. Will email during the week.
