FRIDAY PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT - SPACE

Linking today with Astrid for our photo hunt.  I found this one, actually unusual/different & really had to put my thinking hat on.

MY SPACE.

This is the "space " I call my own.  A bedroom at the back of our house with a sort of view of part of the garden.  I have just changed it all around as my son-in-law came and put in 2 more power points so I wasn't continually stepping over extension cord, which I've been doing for 6 years now.  The original power point was in a strange position.  I'm getting to grips with the new layout and it seems to be working well.  Below I'm showing the SPACE.

View from doorway.

The wall beside the doorway to the right of this.

View from window end.

As you walk in the door we have some storage boxes.

Looking from my cutting table toward the window.

Now I can see the doorway from my sewing machine and not be frightened by hubby suddenly creeping into the room in his bare feet.😊
This room is about 11' x 10' with a wardrobe behind where I have my design wall standing, so not very large, but it's adequate, though I would like my old setup from No.4 where I had the quilting machine in my sewing area too.

Just a few photos of my old studio in the house we sold back in 2013 & moved when retirement happened.  I even miss some of the furniture I sold, but, life happens and changes and I can still create wherever I am.

My lot done for today and sure as eggs I will now think of something else I could have used as SPACE.
Off to link this and late I'll pop in to see what everyone else has conjured up.
Take care all, stay safe & huggles from down under.
Susan.

  1. We both had our sewing rooms as space! Great minds. I do prefer your room to mine as it is bigger but I manage and am delighted to have my own space. Like you, my sewing room in our previous room was bigger! Thanks for showing me your room! X

    1. Thanks M. I did wonder if it was going to be any good, but I'm glad someone enjoyed.

  2. A good choice for the theme of space. I think your room is a good size, my little craft room is much smaller but at least I can keep all my crafty bits tucked away out of sight.

    1. Thanks Jo. It is nice for us to have our own space & I often think I'm being selfish when wishing for more, but I do miss my old studio. A "she shed" would be nice🙂.

  3. You have a lovely space to work in in Susan and it's good not to have trailing wires to trip up on:)

  4. A lovely space and so neat and well organised with a lovely view to your garden. I wouldn't have had a clue what to post for space, so very well done with your photos.

    1. Thanks Eileen. I was a bit perplexed until I realised that I sometimes talk about my sewing "space" and having a new layout made it a good choice. Am I neat?

  5. What an interesting choice of space pictures. I love your work space, I hardly do any sewing now except occasional mending as I have to use the dining room table. So I do envy you your space. Take care and happy crafting. xx

    1. Thanks Carol. I've always sewn "a lot", so have needed the space most of the time, though earlier on in family life, it was in the oddest places.

  6. I definitely have sewing room envy ... I have to make do with setting up on the dining room table and have to keep putting everything away, which sometimes puts me off getting started. I love your chest of drawers 💜

    1. Thanks Carol. I've made do with dining table or a wee little sewing table tucked in a corner when the kids were young, but now I miss having my old studio, without my quilting machine being in the same room, but do know I'm extremely lucky having space to sew.
