FRIDAY PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT - LOVELY MEMORY.

Linking with Kate at I live, I love, I craft, I am me, although I'm running late again for our Friday word/photo.  My thoughts for this were very mixed & I got myself into quite a state, but opted for something simple among the many memories that came to mind.  I also needed a few decent photos and I don't know whether we'll ever travel again & see family or friends & hoping to meet a few new ones, so a few favourites from to see list, that I was able to tick off in 2019.

DAVID AUSTEN ROSE GARDEN.

I loved the whole garden & the staff were lovely in the tea rooms & I came away with the most wonderful Rose catalogue which was free.  I'd dearly love to visit again.

GREAT DIXTER.

The house above which is something you'd never see here in Oz, is so beautiful.
Below was a pretty potted corner, which I've sort of been trying to emulate on the corner of our verandah in a somewhat modified version.

OK, this is my small lot for this week as I've really struggled keeping it together & being neat & short.

Take care all, stay safe & huggles from down under.
Susan.

    1. I think gardens in UK are very special & both inspiring & relaxing to visit & you've plenty of great ones there in Yorkshire.

  4. Lucky you to have visited Great Dixter. It's so far away from where I live that I know I'll not visit it. I do like the collection of pots; good luck with your own pot collection!

    1. Yes, I suppose we have been lucky to get there, but also remember distance isn't a big thing to us Aussies, living in such a huge place. Another plus is that one of K's sisters lives in Kent & his best mate in Essex where we stay when down that way. It was an awe inspiring garden.

  5. We always visit the David Austin Rose Garden when we visit Cosford Air Museum as they are in the same village of Albrighton. We usually visit a couple of times a year but not recently of course. It is a lovely place and just under an hour away from here:)

  8. Good to hear from you - I'm glad you made it to the Link-up party (not that I did this week!). Do you have family in the UK? Have you always lived in Oz?

  9. I know exactly how your feel about UK houses and gardens. I visited in 1985 from S.Africa and could not believe how gorgeous and lush the gardens were. It was spring and I had never seen peonies before and the hanging baskets everywhere were amazing. Now we are here in the UK I can never get enough of the beautiful gardens. Take care and have a good week. Things will get back to normal one day. Love xx

    1. We visited in 1991 (my first time) & I was rather blown away by it all, even though it was March & very wet most of the time. I still love coming over, but whether it will happen again remains to be seen. I've still got a lot on my "to see" list.

    1. Thanks Fil. I've always loved pots, but what with restrictions coming & going, I've tried to keep busy & the corner I've made in all this mayhem looks good at the moment, so I'll try & keep it nice.
