ANYTHING & EVERYTHING...........

I just couldn't think of a title, so this is it.
As the last few days have been dry, sunny yesterday though cloudier today,  we've made the most of it with a bit of gardening & two longer walks.  I have days when I'm struggling with all this & have so much I could do, but still faff around too much.
It must have been Monday, while  I was in the sewing room attaching the binding to the second baby quilt, that I heard the screeching of many corellas & this is what I saw, so grabbed the camera & took these few photos.
This is the roof of the house behind us & you can see what I mean by "many" & there were way more along the roof and the surrounding trees.
The tree in the corner of our yard had its fair share too.  As you can see by the sky, it wasn't a pleasant day at all & bitingly cold still.
I mentioned I was attaching a binding, so here are another 2 pics of a little of what I've achieved in this miserable weather.
The first of the baby quilts now finished.
The second one you can see neatly folded on the right side of the lounge as I'm working my way slowly on the binding.  It will be finished soon & that dahlia rug is getting bigger too, sitting on the arm & being worked on each night.  Keeps me quite warm now as well.

I did some baking too.  A chocolate brownie slice & an Anzac cake.
I also like making a mess sometimes, by throwing the contents of my tub of shame on the floor & trying to make the decision of what I should put on the machine next.  Still procrastinating on this.

Well as I said above, we'v done a good amount of walking over the last 2 days & yesterday I took the camera, as I knew there was a lot of fungi around at the moment.  Quite a number photos taken.
What I love calling pixie toadstools.
This lot appear each year on the site of the most beautiful large gum tree that was felled at the corner of a new housing subdivision.  Many people were shocked by it's removal.
We took a slightly different route yesterday & ended up near a new to us playground with this lovely notice board which I thought may be interesting to my overseas blog pals.

You will need to click on these and make them larger to read properly.
Next we walked up a very steep hill along a newish street, then down another walkway back to the park that borders another of our many small creeks, making our way back home.
At the bottom of the walkway into the parkland.
Looking toward the bridge over the creek.
Looking from the bridge left along the creek.  Our native gums can have a tendency to fall in very windy wet weather.  I expect this will all be cleaned up soon.
Nearing where we leave this track to make our way back along the residential streets towards home.
                                                              Ah, that window again.
Sorry about the reflection, but the sun was shining this way.
OK, I've made the effort to post, even though I'm sure it sounds like a lot of twaddle.  Why is this so hard.  Off to get our tea ready & settle in for the night.  Maybe Friday will see me do another UK trip catch up post.
Please take care all, stay safe & huggles from down under.
Susan.😊💝

  1. Lovely walks you have in your area, and your finished quilts ready for quilting are certainly not to be shamed, as they are not UFO's anymore.

  2. Wow, all those corellas, do they make a lot of noise? It does look as though your weather is changeable at the moment, we're getting lots of sunshine here at the moment, quite unexpectedly really given the amount of rain that we usually get, we've had next to nothing for weeks now.

    1. Thanks Jo. Boy, do they make some noise when milling about or flying in flocks. It's unbelievable. More rain expected this weekend.

  3. That is a lot of birds, aren't they lovely! I wish I could do half of what you achieve. It's so nice to see your quilts, baking and walks. I'll have a read of the sign next.
Take care, stay safe and well.

    1. Thanks Jan. If we take the extra time, we can explore more, which has been good.

  5. The corella is like a parrot, right? Were they migrating or are they always there? I also looked up Anzac cake. Sounds delicious. I'm keeping busy, too, but since we're in spring I'm outside cleaning up from the winter. Take care.

    1. Thanks Joanna. Yes, the corella's are similar to our Sulphur Crested cockatoos, but without the yellow crest on top of the head & are part of our wildlife, especially here in southern Victoria.

  6. A wonderful post of birds, baking, quilts and walks. So positive ❤️
All those birds on your roof! Must have made quite a racket! The brownie must be your famous brownie that you sent me the recipe for? And the Anzac cake looks good. Love the quilts and the cushions. X

    1. Thanks Sharon. They can be so noisy when they are flying overhead, you need to turn the radio up.

  7. Wow, all those birds are beautiful - they look realy big. Good on you for getting the camera out so quickly.
You've been getting loads done - the quilts are gorgeous and it's good to have some knitting on the go for night time. My Ozzie friend here made Anzac biscuits last week for the kids in her neighbourhood - she never bakes and really surprised herself.
Keep your chin up, the weather will turn soon - your blogs are really interesting - it's always fascinating to see how others get through their days .. Take care x

    1. Thanks Fil. The corellas are quite large. We are trying to stay busy & would like to be able say we've achieved something in this lockdown. I'm a bit lazy & usually make the Anzac slice on Anzac day, but had forgotten all about this cake I had the recipe for & made it instead, although a little late as we couldn't celebrate the day as usual. Good on your friend.

    1. Thanks Rosie. We are enjoying the exploring, but it's sure strenuous in places as we live in quite a hilly area.

  9. Thank you for letting us tag along on your walk....it was lovely! The mushrooms in the second pic look good enough to eat but probably aren't. Pity.
I hope your weather changes for the better - we had 2 glorious sunny days but tonight it's cold and raining again. Oh well xx

    1. It's my pleasure Evi. You'd have plenty of mushies too, as I remember from when we lived on the island & your weather would be similar to ours, most of the time.

    1. Thanks Joy. The mojo seems to come & go. Wanted to get more done in the garden, but this weird weather has put paid to that at times. Hey.....our new Bunnings has just opened, but we aren't supposed to go. Hopefully soon & a much bigger garden centre. Actually the whole place looks HUGE!!!! Oh & a K-Mart too.

  11. I loved the walk around your neighbourhood. It's fascinating to catch a glimpse from the other side of the world. Are the gum trees good for firewood or too full of resin?

    1. Thanks Cherie. Redgum is brilliant for fires, but all gum is good & much better than pine, which is full of resin.

  12. The birds seem to be more vocal around here too and in abundance in the trees, its been lovely to see them.
Beautiful quilts, you are so talented.
