FRIDAY PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT - BUBBLE.

Linking with Astrid for this weeks word of "BUBBLE".

The first thing that came to mind was the "bubble" we've all been living in over the past year, but I by-passed that thought & looked for other odd bits that were either bubbles or resembled them, so here goes.........

"Bubble cars" which we saw at the Lakeland Motor Museum in 2014 when we holidayed in the UK.
Notice hubby checking them out.
Also in the UK, but 2016  when we travelled across the Dales to Timble & saw these on the way.
They certainly remind me of "bubbles", although I know some people refer to them as golf balls.
I should have an old photo of the ones no longer on the North York Moors, but couldn't find it.

Heading west on the freeway from home towards Melbourne, we can see the enormous dome of the football stadium, known as Aami Park, where they play Rugby League/Union & Soccer.
It always reminds me of a giant bubble.

Last, but not something you could see after I quilted a pattern called "Bubbles" on this quilt.  It was done before I got my new machine & alas I've not even a picture of the paper pattern I used, so will leave it to your imagination.

I really did find this one difficult & spent a fair amount of time searching the archives.  Hope it isn't too far fetched for the word.
Been so busy too with an array of "stuff" that needed doing, so short and sweet today & I'll link this up now.
Take care all, stay safe & hugs.
Susan.

  1. I think they're some great examples of bubbles.

  2. But every photo is perfect! I love the quilt design. One of your own or a known pattern? We recently saw a program about bubble cars so why did I not remember this??? Take care.

    1. Thanks M. The quilt is loosely based on one by Doreen Speckman, but I had to change the dimensions to use those pesky 2" square and I did different sample blocks in the large sqaures. We also saw a program just recently too on the cars.

  3. I love all your 'bubble' pictures. We took the grandsons to Lakeland museum but did not see the bubble cars, you were lucky. Did not think of the US listening posts that we call Golf Balls, you were very clever! Lets hope that the 'bubbles' of last year will be a long forgotten thing for us all. Keep well both of you. xx

    1. Thanks Carol and it is amazing when you take some time to think outside the box what you can come up with. I expect all the museums get new acquisitions from time to time & we went more recently than you by the sound of it.

  4. I like the bubble cars, they are cute - a family friend had one when I was a kid. There was a song about one, came out in 1958 and often played on the radio - called Beep Beep it was done by the Playmates and is on Youtube. I love the quilt, it's beautiful and is definitely my favourite :)

    1. Thanks Eunice. Don't remember that song & I was around then, a whole 9 years old. Glad you liked the quilt.

  5. You did well finding your bubble photos. I remember bubble cars from way back. Your quilt is lovely. I hope there are no more pandemic bubbles needed ever again.

    1. Thanks Eileen. I think Bubble cars are so cute, but can you imagine my 6'3" husband getting in one. He finds the Morris difficult enough these days(giggle).

  6. I love the bubble car... in fact I love all the photos. I think I should set myself a task and choose a word/them. A walk would take on new meaning if I was taking photos

    1. Thanks Cherie. I'd love you to join in and Astrid, instead of Kate has taken over the reins for now, but it's still keeps me motivated to use my camera & blog. I try to take my camera with me most of the time, but then I've loved photography since I was 10.

    1. Thanks Rosie. I don't particularly remember Bubble cars as a child, but I've seen the golf balls at Fylingdales before they went & thought I had a photo.

  8. Not far-fetched at all. I enjoy seeing what creative connections you make between the word and the photos. Bubble cars—so cute!

  9. I love the different bubbles! Those cars are too funny. My husband drove something like that in Europe while there for work and he barely fit in it! Your quilt is so beautiful, all unique bubbles. Thanks for sharing.
