STILL BLOGGING - A LOCAL WALK.

I'd like to say a great big THANKS to all my lovely comments & say the "positives" have won out.
Being allowed our daily exercise and only in our local neighbour can be a challenge, but we are trying to vary it each day.  Not today though!!!  It is blowing a hooley, raining heavily & so cold after yesterday.  13° now at 3pm.  On Monday I decided to take my camera with me & this a first for me as we live in a country town, but suburbia is catching up fast with new estates popping up everywhere.  Hence I don't feel that there is all the beauty there once was, but here goes.
Out of our court & onto the larger road & further along we see the lonely farm in the middle of housing.  They still run some cattle on this land, but it is earmarked for housing eventually.
Part of the new stage on the other side of the road.  Past this point we come to a newly created wetlands, below.
We didn't take the path behind the long grasses, as there was a gentleman & his dog sitting on the bench & some other people approaching, so we kept to the higher path.
And it goes past the playground, which is not allowed to be used now.
Out onto the next street, where we turn right at the bottom, back past the wetlands to wind our way back up the hill.
To the right of the path is the boardwalk heading into the centre of wetlands.
Autumn is upon us & this tree seems to be turning on one side, but not the other yet.
The wattles have plenty of buds, but will not burst into flower for a few months yet.  Well not generally, so will keep our eye on this one.

Up the hill and we spied these two, keeping an eye on passersby.  They were so cute.
Once at the top of the hill, you can see more new housing in the distance and the mountains in the far distance.  The paddocks in front have bales of silage, but is also earmarked for housing in the very near future.

Housing to the right, but if you click on this, you'll be able to see a long white stretch behind the houses, which are the tomato glasshouses.  They are huge & produce mainly tomatoes.

We kept on walking till we got to the street behind our court & turned right into the park which connects the street & 3 courts & has a small playground & lots of lovely trees.
 Looking north.
 Looking west.
Looking back to the east, the way we had come.  Silly fella........
and looking down towards our court.

Oh..........and one more lot of soft animals.  We did see a few others, but just couldn't get a decent photo.
That was one of our little jaunts & maybe I'll take the camera again, when we do a different circuit.
Hope you have enjoyed & I've made up my mind to do a few things on a regular basis.  Tomorrow, I might do a sewing tutorial & you can see how I work on something.  Mondays will be my UK trip catchup day & we'll have a crafty show off day too, from both of us.
Does that sound a bit more positive?  OK enough for now as we've had another lot of heavy rain & some thunder.
Take care all, stay safe & huggles.
Susan.

  3. I think we're all taking similar walks at the moment, unable to get in the car and go wherever we choose, we're on foot wandering around the neighbourhood. People are putting rainbows in their windows here, and a few are putting teddy bears too, it's fun trying to spot them all.

    1. Thanks Julie & it's been so much harder for you with medical issues, but glad you can enjoy the garden. We sure won't today, but maybe a little sunshine next week.

  5. It's nice to see someone else's neighbourhood but it's a shame all that lovely open land is earmarked for housing :(

    1. Thanks Eunice & yes it is, as when we moved to this area in 2004, there was so much more farmland, which is why we chose here. Population has more than doubled in those years.
