HEARTATHON! DAY 6

Catching hearts again with Kate at I live, I love, I craft, I am me.

Todays offering is actually 3 hearts and I'll see if you can guess where they are.  Again my photo isn't great, but just can't seem to get the right light in this house.  All the walls are sort of a murky apricot colour & although the windows large, they just don't seem to let in much light due to their positioning.
Ah well, we try.

Can you see "three"?
Not much to report today & as it has been so overcast (& rain last night, yippee) I'll wait for another day to take some crafty happenings.
BTW, the flowers above were picked this morning along with another 2 cake tins of blueberries & I've still one in the fridge from Saturday.  I've already given a tub to over the road & the boys next door this afternoon & will take some to our local greengrocer tomorrow.  Next, I'm thinking of making jam in my breadmaker.  Wish me luck, as the only jam I ever made, many moons ago, was a complete disaster.
I'll be back tomorrow.  Take care all.
Susan.

  1. Yes! Found them :) Jam in the bread maker?? Yes please do report back, I am interested to know how that progresses. I managed to garden this weekend, at last! The garden has been sadly neglected then winter got in the way (along with other things) But I now have cleared flower beds, snowdrops appearing and a newly laid pathway - it is looking very promising!

    1. Smartie! The garden sounds like it is starting to progress & can't wait to see some photos. It's going to be hot both tomorrow & Wednesday & we have a coffee 'n' cake run too, so think I'll give the jam making a go on Thursday, so I'll let you know.

  3. I can see two hearts on the teddy, is the vase in the shape of a heart? My bread maker has a jam setting but I've never used it, I'll be interested to hear how you get on.

    1. Yes Jo, the vase is heart-shaped. From these responses, think I won't be able to get out of having a go at jam making now.

  4. Hi Susan, just wanted to drop in to tell you not to worry about me. Everything is fine at Bag End but I am busy trying to get some quilting projects finished up, AND trying to get the pre-season garden work done, so I'm not spending much time on the computer at present. No need to worry about me, which I know you will probably do anyway, even though you've been told not to!!

    1. Thanks, but do we have ESP? I was going to pop you a text tonight, & now you are making me feel even guiltier, as I've hardly touched the veg bed except to clear it around Xmas, then nothing else. Just keeping everything tidy at the moment.

  5. Hope the jam making goes well, not something I have ever tried so I am sure that yours will be better than mine could ever be!

    1. Thanks Amy, I'll let you all know in a later blog post about the jam.
BTW, that Cherished Teddy is Amy & spelled your way.(giggle). Remember when I spelled yours wrong?

  6. I found the 3 hearts; easy! As for jam making in the bread maker, I'd be interested to know how it turns out. I've made jam for years in the 'traditional' way but have adapted it. Essentially I use a big pan, no more than half full with fruit. I might wash the fruit but I do not add any water. I squash the fruit to make it release its juices, cook gently till cooked, add sugar to taste and raise the temperature to boiling point. Check it sets and bottle up! As I like my jams to be sharp I keep them in the fridge as they do not have enough sugar in them. Have fun!

    1. Yes, there are 3 and thanks for all the jam info. My first ever try was a resounding disaster & hubby doesn't like jam so I've just never bothered again, but here goes.

  7. I can vouch for Thread's jam. She has used it as a filling in cakes with cream. Yum. Yes, I found your three hearts. Love the vase, it is very pretty. Have fun with the jam making. x

    1. Thanks C. I thought about using some of my jam(when it's made) in a Matrimonial Slice recipe I use. The vase is pretty & as I was thinking about the teddy for my heartathon I'd been tidying the climbing rose & picked one, looked for a vase to put it in & voila, pulled out this one & thought, aha, another heart, so the two were put together for the photo. I'm still finding hearts even though I've more than enough. (giggle)
